PHILLIP PHILLIPS LYRICS - Raging Fire

"Raging Fire" lyrics PHILLIP PHILLIPS LYRICS

We are dead to rights born and raised
We are thick and thin 'til our last days
So hold me close and I'll surrender to your heart
You know how to give and how to take
You see every hope I locked away
So pull me close and surrender to my heart

Before the flame goes out tonight
Yeah, we'll live until we die

So come out, come out, come out
Won't you turn my soul into a raging fire?
Come out, come out, come out
'Til we lose control into a raging fire
Into a raging fire
Come out, come out, come out
Won't you turn my soul into a raging fire?

You know time will give and time will take
All the memories made will wash away
Even though we've changed, I'm still here with you
If you listen close, you'll hear the sound
Of all the ghosts that bring us down
Hold on to what makes you feel
Don't let go, it's what makes you real

If the flame goes out tonight
Yeah, we'll live until we die

So come out, come out, come out
Won't you turn my soul into a raging fire?
Come out, come out, come out
'Til we lose control into a raging fire
Into a raging fire
Come out, come out, come out
Won't you turn my soul into a raging fire?

Let the world leave us behind,
Let your heart be next to mine
Before the flame goes out tonight,
We can live until we die

Come out, come out, come out
Won't you turn my soul into a raging fire?

Come out, come out, come out
Won't you turn my soul into a raging fire?
Come out, come out, come out
'Til we lose control into a raging fire
Into a raging fire

Forest Fires

In the year 2000, fire fighters battled raging infernos as some of the worst wildfires in 50 years rampaged across a dozen states. Not only were these fires the worst in half a century, but they may be the worst ever recorded.
In a single week in mid August, 86 major wildfires were raging in a dozen states from Arizona and California up to Colorado and Wyoming to Montana, Oregon and South Dakota. Five million acres of land burned, more then double the annual average for the past decade. A controlled fire six miles southwest of Los Alamos that was implemented as a fire prevention measure would not stop. First consuming dry grass, then ponderosa pines, then gobbling up hundreds of homes and buildings, the fire spread through Los Alamos, the home of the atom bomb. Some 20,000 people had to be evacuated and luckily the fires never came close to a building that held drums of transuranium mixed waste and a metric ton of plutonium. Noxious fumes wafted from the lead paint, rubber and plastics in burning cars and buildings.
Due to the destructive wildfires, interest in fuel management to reduce fire control costs and damages has been renewed. Although several tools, such as prescribed burning and salvage timber sales can address these problems, the extent of the problem and the cost of needed treatments are generally unknown. There are few documented estimates of the decline in control costs or damages associated with fuel treatments.
The roles and responsibilities of the Federal and State governments in fire protection may be subject to further debate. Laws state that a permit must be required to start a fire outside. Fines are issued to anyone breaking this law.
As individual citizens. we can take responsibility by obeying the law. Just like Smoky the Bear says “Only you can prevent forest fires.”

It was twilight time. I was watching television in my house when I heard an explosion. More followed. So I went outside to see what the matter was.

A column of dark billowing smoke told me the story. There was a fire raging a short distance away.

I got onto my bicycle and pedalled in the direction of the smoke. A couple of kilometres later I came upon the fire. It was a row of motor-workshops and they were burning furiously.

The police and fire department had already cordoned off the area. I watched from a distance. A crowd had already gathered and we gaped with amazement at the spectacle presented by the burning shops.

The fire rose to about twenty metres and it lit up the whole area even though the sky was already dark. The firemen desperately sprayed streams of water into the fire to control it. Now and then explosions can be heard as gas cylinders blew up in the intense heat.

For more than an hour the fire raged. I could see anxious people trying to get near the workshops only to be held back by the police. They were obviously the shop-owners trying to save their shops. Actually they could do nothing but wait for the fire to be extinguished.

Finally the blaze died down and darkness enveloped us. The workshops were totally razed. Only red-hot embers remained where they once stood. The crowd thinned and I too got onto my bicycle and cycled home.

Fire is defined by the Columbia Encyclopedia as- Rapid burning of combustible material with the evolution of heat and usually accompanied by flame. It is one of the human race's essential tools, control of which helped start it on the path toward civilization. This is the research I have collected regarding the different reactions fire has on certain things and related materials. All this information was found on the Internet, the Encyclopedia Britannica, The Columbia Encyclopedia, and The Encyclopedia Expedia.

Combustion is a rapid chemical reaction of two or more substances with a characteristic liberation of heat and light; it is commonly called burning. The burning of a fuel (e.g. wood, coal, oil, or natural gas) in air is a familiar example of combustion. Combustion need not involve oxygen; e.g. hydrogen burns in chlorine to form hydrogen chloride with the liberation of heat and light characteristic of combustion. Combustion reactions involve oxidation and reduction. Before a substance will burn, it must be heated to its ignition point, or kindling temperature. Pure substances have characteristic ignition points. Although the ignition point of a substance is essentially constant, the time needed for burning to begin depends on such factors as the form of the substance and the amount of oxygen in the air. A finely divided substance is more readily ignited than a massive one; e.g. sawdust ignites more rapidly than does a log. The vapors of a volatile fuel such as gasoline are more readily ignited than is the fuel itself. The rate of combustion is also affected by these factors, particularly by the amount of oxygen in the air.

The Boiling Point is a temperature at which a substance changes its state from liquid to gas. A stricter definition of boiling point is the temperature at which the liquid and vapor (gas) phases of a substance can exist in equilibrium. When heat i

Raging fire levels garage
Reported on Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Flames erupt from a burning garage to the rear of a home in the 200 block of West Holland Street, Summit Hill, last night. The fire was ruled accidental and appears to have started in the vicinity of a wood burner.

Flames swept through a one-vehicle garage in Summit Hill last night, destroying the structure.

The fire occurred in an alley to the rear of the 200 block of West Holland Street next to the Ginder Field at about 6:30.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, the garage was an inferno.

The structure reportedly belonged to Mike McCarroll. It was reported the garage contained many items, including automotive parts.

Despite the intensity of the flames, the fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. No other structures were affected.

Fire Chief Shawn Hoben ruled the cause of the fire accidental. He said it appears the blaze had its start in the vicinity of a wood-burner.

Response was quick by firefighters with apparatus and personnel arriving on the scene within minutes. The firetrucks are currently being housed in the borough garage, which is only a short distance from the scene of the fire.

Hoben said the Summit Hill and Lansford Fire Departments were at the scene, as well as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) of the Tamaqua Fire Department.

The Coaldale Fire Company was stationed on stand-by status at the Lansford Fire Company.

Also at the scene was the Lehighton Ambulance.

There were no reported injuries.
