Description

Идеальная школа

It is very difficult to imagine an ideal school. I questioned my schoolmates and asked them to tell about the school of their dream. Their stories made a strong impression on me. To my mind they are real romantics. As it turned out, all the pupils have imagination. Some pupils dream of computers in every classroom, others wish a big videostudio. One pupil would like to have a swimming pool and a tennis court, the other dreams of many animals in the school yard and coca-cola-mashines on every floor.

As for me, I dream of well-equipped school. Just imagine! The school where children study is quite big. When you enter the school, you see a lobby where there is ahuge aquarium with exotic fish. It is very splendid, isn`t it? No doubt, a gym is realy large. It is well-equipped for the lessons. Besides, a great number of sporting events are held in the gym such as different competitions, games. Sport helps children to keep in good health:»Good health is above wealth».

On the first floor you can find a lot of subject rooms. Usually classes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology take place in laboratories because teachers need a lot of special equipment for the lessons. I think that every pupil can`t imagine an ideal school without computers. The door to the computer class is on the right side of the corridor. As a rule pupils study computers here, but sometimes the English teacher takes them to work with English-teaching programmes and even play English computer games. It`s fun.

School means a lot in the life of everybody. The pupils meet their first friends here, learn to deal with people. Here they pave their way from ABC to profound knowledge that helps them to become top specialists. Pupils remember their teachers because they are not only instructors and tutors but their leaders, friends and school parents.

"If the children are untaught, their ignorance and vices will in future life cost us much dearer in their consequences than it would have done in their correction by a good education"- Thomas Jefferson.

This quote implies that there is no freedom without education which is what I honestly believe. One of the most important sources of education come from what we learn in school. If the children do not get proper schooling, how can this apply to them? If I were principal of a high school, and were given the opportunity to develop the students' curriculum, rules of behaviour and criteria for promotion, I would do everything as fairly as possible, so nothing is prejudiced against anyone. In the following paragraphs, I have given my recommendations about what I think would make a good school system.

Before I try to change the attitudes of my students, I would make sure that I have a competent, cooperartive, yet a caring team of teachers who have a good background and record of teaching in their subjects. They will need to have the ability to change teaching based on what does and does not work in the class. They should be open-minded, tolerant and patient. They will need to be able to handle any situation they encounter with confidence. They will be perfect role models.

What I need to take into account when I develop the curriculum is that everyone is different, having different interests and personalities. Not everyone dreams of becoming a scientist, doctor or a lawyer when they grown up. For this reason, I will try to properly divide the curriculum between the theoretical and practical aspects of learning, as well as a good portion of the curriculum time going towards physical education and or the arts. This makes everything all the more balanced. When the students arrive newly to high school, around grade 9 and even 10, I will make sure they get more of the academic subjects such as Math, English, Science and Geograph.

Reaction Paper: My Ideal School

This reaction paper addresses the question of what my ideal school would be like. My ideal school would be consisting of a really good learning environment where students want to learn and teachers want to teach. It would be a diverse school with students of different cultural backgrounds builds on respect for one another. I have always admired and respected people of various cultural backgrounds and I would like to learn from my fellow students as well as my teachers.

My ideal school must have knowledgably and motivated teachers who know how to effectively communicate their knowledge in the classroom. Knowing the information means nothing if the teacher is not able to communicate this information to the students. In my ideal school a good teacher takes the knowledge and presents it in such a way that the students will readily understand it and be able to utilize the information. On the other hand, a bad teacher will make it almost impossible to understand even the simplest things.

In my ideal school the teachers will seek to find new and interesting ways to present material to the students (even on an individual basis), and they will help to motivate their students and show them that the material they are learning is relevant. The most important responsibility of a teacher in my ideal school will be to ensure high academic achievement for all students.

In conclusion my ideal school will consist of students who want to learn and teachers who want to teach. This school will be a partnership between the students and the teachers. It will be a positive and friendly environment for everyone involved and everyone who is there will want to be there.
